Algo así le sucedió a Mariano Aguirre. La diferencia radica que en esta historia el infectado es él. Aguirre es un enfermero de Ituzaingó que tras enterarse que contrajo la enfermedad – a principios de abril- cumplió con el protocolo del Ministerio de Salud y está en cuarentena en su domicilio.
Tampoco acude al Centro Médico Fitz Roy, la clínica de la Capital Federal donde trabaja y donde se contagió prestando un servicio esencial: asistir a los pacientes que contrajeron el virus. Pese a ello, sus vecinos publicaron fotos suyas y de su familia con frases acusatorias. Y él respondió con un video para contarles quién es, que hizo desde que le realizaron el test y de algún modo, apelar a que los escrachadores reflexionen.
“Debido a que en las últimas 24 horas estuve en boca de todos decidí hacer este video para presentarme y que conozcan quién soy. Soy enfermero y vivo en el barrio desde hace 35 años”, arrancó su mensaje.
Y continuó: “En el momento en que comencé a presentar síntomas compatibles seguí todos los pasos que correspondían, llamé al servicio de emergencia y enseguida me fueron a buscar para empezar el aislamiento correspondiente”.
El video, que se publicó en una página de agrupación vecinal, no tardó en viralizarse y en seguida comenzó a recibir múltiples mensajes de apoyo. “Es increible que tengas que salir a dar explicaciones, no hace falta. Deberíamos agradecerte por todo lo que hacés al exponerte, por cumplir con tu profesión y ayudar en este momento. Es una vergüenza, fuerza”, se indignó una vecina.

“Soy personal de salud y no fue mi culpa contagiarme. Tengo dos trabajos y lo tengo que hacer para sustentar las necesidades de mi familia”, contó el enfermo, al tiempo que detalló que cuando se enteró de que tenía coronavirus se comunicó con la dueña de un comercio del barrio donde había estado el día anterior, para indicarle los pasos a seguir y asegurarse de que tomara todas las precauciones para ella, sus empleados y los clientes.
“Muchas veces la gente ha necesitado de mis servicios y lo hice sin dudar. Acuérdense que el personal de salud siempre estará ahí para cuidarlos”, cerro Aguirre.
